When it comes to Termite Treatments and Termite Prevention, we should first explain the difference between the various options.

Termite Prevention systems are physical chemical barriers which are applied to the soil that is in contact with the foundations of your house. This type of system is the top method of defence to prevent termites from entering a home that was built without any termite protection. Two such systems are Treated Zones and Reticulation Systems. 

Then you have Termite Baiting Systems and Termite Monitoring Systems.

Termite Baiting Systems rely on Termites finding the Bait Stations that are placed in the soil surrounding your house. Termites eat the bait and take it back to the nest to feed the colony. Bait stations need to be inspected every 6 months for termite activity, and bait rod replacement is carried out if the bait has been eaten.

Termite Monitoring Stations are simply that. The in-ground station contains timber inserts that termites are attracted to. These stations must be inspected every 3 months for termite activity. Once a station becomes active – a bait matrix is then added to feed the termites. The termite baiting cost is additional and is not normally included in the system.
